Inn Churches works all year round with guests who are homeless. In winter we host a shelter to get rough sleepers off the street.
We actively pursue finding pathways which enable guests to access needed services moving them from the street into sustainable independent living.
When desired, we try to connect them with local churches or community services to help them integrate as quickly as possible into their new environment.
By networking with existing agencies and organisations we help by:
- signposting guests to other services;
- supporting them in making benefit claims;
- assisting them in finding training and volunteering opportunities;
- accessing social or private housing.
Through a generous grant from Yorkshire Building Society and a private individual we are able to provide our guests with a starter pack when they move into their new accommodation. This includes bedding, crockery, cutlery and a kettle.
